Shiatsu Massage

What is Focused Touch Shiatsu?
What does it do?

Shiatsu MassageShiatsu means "finger pressure" in Japanese. It is the ancient Japanese medicinal art of applying thumb and finger pressure to acupuncture points.

Focused Touch Shiatsu integrates the best of Eastern and Western bodywork styles in an efficient and effective form. It is a specific, deep muscle massage that can help reduce the pain associated with many chronic and acute problems, can promote increased range of motion and flexibility, and can speed healing after injury or surgery.

Shiatsu disperses lactic acid from sore muscles. It improves circulation and lymphatic drainage. It eases tension and promotes relaxation. Thus it is good for the promotion of health and general well-being. Many clients report feeling relaxed while receiving Shiatsu and energized afterward. Many people schedule regular appointments because of these therapeutic benefits.

Do I have to get undressed?

Clients may receive Shiatsu through their clothing, or they may remove as much clothing as they wish and receive Shiatsu through full coverage sheets. The choice is up to the client. Modesty is respected.

Therapeutic massage is designed to be a health aid. In no way does it take the place of a physician's care when it is indicated.
